"We drove with the windows down for the mile or so down highway 30. It was fall but was only just getting cold. The bimmer sounded great. The trees rushed over and around the car, creating a tunnel out of the windshield. Red dash lights are so easy on the eyes at night and old heaters blow a bit hotter than a modern thermostat. rant

apparently i either have absolutely no shame or i am accepting that these songs will never be finished and lack the confidence(self importance) to try and finish them. each one is deeply flawed and riddled with missed notes and pointless cliches. these songs will never be played live. i am not a performer and don't want to impress anyone or seem cool. to be a beloved, renowned hobbyist musician you must commodify yourself. give people what they want and relinquish meaning to the observer and the master. try to become a cohesive package. easily deliverable to the ear or the spotify playlist or blog post, to be digested quickly and forgotten faster, which is fine.

i did all the stuff which is why it sounds so bad

jacki keeps me honest and trying new things and wrote the words to the epic poem that "exactly what you think it is" is borrowed from. if you see jacki ask for it to be read out loud, edited, then published.
